The 2023 Canadian Para-Bowls Championships have begun at the Stanley Park Lawn Bowling Club in Calgary, Alberta. The competition takes place from July 24 – July 30, 2023, and will feature the top para bowlers from across the country with both visual and physical impairments. The 2023 Canadian Para-Bowls championship is a selection tournament to represent Canada at the International Bowls for the Disabled world championship in Johannesburg, South Africa 2024.

The event is open to any visually impaired or physically impaired lawn bowler who belongs to an affiliated club in Canada. In para bowls, participants are classified into two sections: bowlers with a visual impairment and bowlers with an ambulatory impairment.  Classification involves a variety of medical tests that compare muscle strength, range of motion, co-ordination, amputation, and balance against standardized classification descriptions.
