Taekwondo Canada Unveils 2025-28 Strategic Plan

OTTAWA, ON—Taekwondo Canada is proud to unveil its 2025-28 Strategic Plan. The plan is a roadmap to success for the organization and was created with the assistance of Taekwondo Canada’s Board of Directors, Staff, Provincial and Territorial Sport Organizations (PTSO) and key stakeholders, all of whom had significant input into its development.

The plan was facilitated by Ottawa-based Sayid Consulting who hosted focus groups, distributed surveys and hosted a Board retreat which assisted in its development. The plan took one year to complete and is the most comprehensive plan ever done by Taekwondo Canada.

The Strategic Plan, features a new Vision and Values statement as well as the following Mission Statement:

Mission: “To Inspire and foster excellence in Taekwondo, promoting health, community, safe and accessible pathways for all. To allow participants to achieve their best through comprehensive support and development programs.”

As well as the new statements, Taekwondo Canada has also developed a five pillar plan from which our roadmap can be achieved. These pillars include Integrity, Excellence, Safe Sport, Respect and Community. All of which are tied to key initiatives and outcomes which are supported by key performance indicators throughout the plan. These initiatives and outcomes will be supported by a rigorous operational plan beginning in 2025 and ending with a successful outcome at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.

Taekwondo Canada has created a significant risk management strategy which aligns with the organization’s new strategic plan. The review of the plan will be done quarterly for each year of its existence and will ensure that we are moving in the right direction throughout the quadrennial plan. This report will also be presented to the membership during each Annual Meeting.

In announcing the new strategic plan to its participants and membership, Executive Director Dave Harris said “On behalf of Taekwondo Canada, I am extremely proud to present this Strategic Plan to all involved in the great sport of taekwondo in our country. I believe that this roadmap to success will benefit all taekwondo enthusiasts from grassroots to our high-performance programming. I know that this plan will ensure that we provide the best possible opportunities for all involved leading up to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.”
