Suriname Withdraws from NORCECA Men’s Continental Championships

Volleyball Canada – Sept. 02, 2019:  Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances, the team from Suriname will not participate in this week’s tournament in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

As a result of Suriname’s absence, the match scheduled for Monday, September 02 (8 pm local) vs Canada is cancelled. All other matches on Monday will be played as planned.

September 02
1 pm Guatemala vs Cuba
3 pm Mexico vs Puerto Rico
6 pm USA vs Dominican Republic
8 pm Canada (will hold an open practice on the competition court)

A new official schedule for the rest of the week will be issued at www.norceca.net.  The playoff (weekend) schedule will not be affected.

“We are disappointed by the late withdrawal of Suriname, but are still looking forward to some exciting matches, with berths to next January’s Olympic Qualifier on the line,” said Volleyball Canada’s Director of International Events, Alan Ahac. “The local organizing committee has done an excellent job of preparing the venue, and team Canada is set to compete here in Winnipeg.”
