We strongly advocate for the active involvement of all National Sport Organizations (NSO) in creating safer sport and recreation spaces for all Canadians. From coast to coast to coast, extensive research underscores the undeniable connection between inclusivity and safety in sport spaces. Many NSOs are on a journey as they look at how they will bring Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives to life in their organizations. There is also a new call for funding applications from Sport Canada to address Gender Equity and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
The time is now to create a thoughtful review of your current state, and to develop a plan to increase diversity of leadership and participation across your sport.Â
It can be daunting to determine how to begin this thoughtful and important work. As such, INclusion INcorporated would like to invite you to a webinar to share approaches on how to begin this work, and how to move it forward to create safer, more welcoming and inclusive environments in your sport. INclusion INcorporated was founded in February 2020 and is comprised of six full time and one half time EDI Leaders, and twenty-three Co-Creators that span Canada’s coasts, rural, urban, Indigenous, and global communities. We were recognized by Manage HR magazine as one of Canada’s top 10 emerging Diversity, Equity and Inclusion consulting firms in 2022. Over the past three and a half years, we have supported numerous Community, Provincial and National Sport Organizations through policy audits and the use of our proprietary assessment tool, the BelongINg Metric.
On Wednesday, November 22nd at 10:00am PST/1:00pm EST, we will host a webinar to support NSOs to plan out their EDI work, and to support the development of their Sport Canada application. Attendees will receive a presentation about creating a review process to understand their current state, and the development of their plan to move this work forward. They will also receive guidance on the responses to this funding call.Â
