(March 12, 2020 – FREDERICTON, N.B.) The 2020 Junior
East Wheelchair Basketball Championship has been cancelled. Wheelchair
Basketball Canada (WBC) and host Parasport New Brunswick made the
decision due to ongoing concerns around the COVID-19
pandemic. The event was scheduled to take place March 14-15, 2020 in
Fredericton.
“Given the uncertainty and the continuously evolving nature of the
situation, WBC is taking every precaution to ensure the health and
safety of all involved,” said WBC Executive Director Wendy Gittens.
WBC continues to closely monitor the situation and all available
information from public health officials. We will continue to work with
our members and hosts to diligently assess all upcoming events based on
the latest information. Health and safety is our
topmost priority.
