What                            

The Bison Transport Sport LeadHERship Series, hosted by media personality Sara Orlesky, is a free five-part online series designed for Manitoba’s coaches, administrators, community leaders, and volunteers of all genders, from all sports, from across the province.

The goal of each session is to help participants empower and encourage the girls they work with to stay active and involved in sport, and become the next generation of sport leaders. Participants will take away practical tips and tools to help build their network and knowledge base.

Who

Series Highlights: 

  • Our first session, Getting Girls Back in Sport, will convey the reality of the sport participation levels of women and girls are currently in Manitoba and how the pandemic has affected them. Our three special guests are: Dr. Adrienne Leslie-Toogood, Mackenzie Zacharias and Sarah Zacharias.
     
    • Dr. Adrienne Leslie-Toogood is one of the top sport psychology leaders in the country. She has attended almost every multi-sport games from the Canada Games to the Olympics and Paralympics, and has travelled extensively with a wide range of teams. In addition to her work in sport, she has worked with several other high performers including medical doctors, business leaders and performing artists. She is currently the owner of Toogood Consulting and the Director of Sport Psychology at the Canadian Sport Centre Manitoba.
       
    • Mackenzie Zacharias is a curler who skipped her team to a gold medal at both the 2020 Canadian Junior Curling Championships and the 2020 World Junior Curling Championships
       
    • Sarah Zacharias is the Head Coach and Director of Hockey at Balmoral Hall, who in 2019, led the Blazers to their first JWHL Championship in program history.
