Speed Skating Canada Names Provisional Short Track Teams for 2021-2022 Season

Speed Skating Canada – MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Speed Skating Canada announces today the provisional composition of its short track high performance teams for the 2021-2022 season, which includes the National Team, NextGen Team and the Racing Pool for the Special Olympic Qualification Competitions (SOQC).

The team nominations were made following the 2021 Canadian Short Track Championships presented by Intact Insurance, which was hosted in Montreal from August 21 to 29. Nominations were based on the final adjusted rankings from the competition, while also taking into consideration the recommendations of national program coaches and athlete evaluations for bye requests and discretionary nominations.

It is important to note that the composition of these teams could potentially change in the coming weeks should an appeal be submitted and accepted. Teams will not be made official until the appeal period has passed and a decision on those appeals – should any be received – has been made.
