Softball Canada Announces 2022 Men’s National Team Core Players

Ottawa, Ont. – Softball Canada and the Men’s National Team coaching staff are pleased to announce ten (10) athletes who have been selected as core players who will represent Team Canada at the 2022 WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup. The tournament will be played November 26 to December 4, 2022 in Auckland, New Zealand.
 
The announcement of the core players follows the timelines identified in the Men’s National Team Selection Process. The coaching staff will select the remaining athletes by September 15th, 2022 to form its 16-player World Cup roster.
 
Canada qualified for the 2022 WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup with a silver-medal performance at the XI Men’s Pan American Championship that took place April 24-30 in Parana, Argentina.
 
The Canadian squad recently moved up three spots to rank 3rd in the WBSC Men’s Softball World Rankings after their Pan American Championship result. The red and white won back-to-back bronze medals at the 2017 and 2019 WBSC Men’s Softball World Cups after winning gold at the event in 2015.
