MONTREAL, QC (May 23, 2023) – In March 2020, as Montreal was preparing to greet the world’s best athletes and become the focal point of the figure skating world, COVID-19 struck, making it impossible to hold the prestigious sporting event. Four years later, for the 113th edition of the ISU World Figure Skating Championships, the city will finally host the event at the Bell Centre from March 18 to 24, 2024.

Skate Canada will present the athletes who will act as ambassadors for these World Championships. This will take place on Thursday, May 25 at the Atrium 1000 starting at 10:00 a.m. The media is invited to this press announcement which will reveal the names of ambassadors as well as offer details regarding ticket sales.

On this occasion several athletes will join the ambassadors for a few laps around the ice to discuss the importance of this event. Among them will be Canadian champions Maxime Deschamps, Laurence Fournier Beaudry, Nikolaj Soerensen, and members of the world champion synchronized skating team, Les Suprêmes. Representatives from the City of Montreal and other levels of government will be present, as well as partners in the organization of the World Championships.

Possibility of capturing footage (photos, b-roll) on-site. Please note that it is mandatory to wear spikes or skates on the ice.
