Skate Canada announces Opening Ceremony acts for the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2020

Skate Canada is pleased to announce that members of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games gold medal team and other legendary Canadian skaters will be a part of the Opening Ceremony at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2020. The Opening Ceremony will take place on the first day of competition on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 15:45 ET at Centre Bell in Montreal, Quebec.

Canadian Olympic medallists Tessa Virtue, Scott Moir, Meagan Duhamel, Eric Radford, Kaetlyn Osmond, Patrick Chan, Joannie Rochette and Elvis Stojko, and four-time World Champion Kurt Browning will perform a thrilling program choreographed by Jeff Buttle, with music composed by Eric Radford and Igor Vrabac, featuring Meira Alaraj to kick-off the Opening Ceremony.

In addition, fans will watch performances from Les Suprêmes senior, the 2020 Canadian synchronized skating champions and bronze medallists Nova senior, choreographed by Dr. Shae Zukiwsky. This spring, Les Suprêmes will represent Canada at the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships in Lake Placid, USA. 

Other notable acts will include Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Cirque Éloize and Petits Chanteurs de Mont-Royal.

Patinage Canada a le plaisir d’annoncer que les membres de l’équipe médaillée d’or, aux Jeux olympiques d’hiver de 2018, et d’autres patineurs canadiens légendaires participeront à la cérémonie d’ouverture des Championnats du monde ISU de patinage artistique 2020. La cérémonie d’ouverture aura lieu le premier jour de compétition, soit le mercredi 18 mars 2020, à 15 h 45 (HE), au Centre Bell de Montréal, au Québec.

Les médaillés olympiques canadiens Tessa Virtue, Scott Moir, Meagan Duhamel, Eric Radford, Kaetlyn Osmond, Patrick Chan, Joannie Rochette et Elvis Stojko, ainsi que le quadruple champion du monde Kurt Browning, exécuteront un numéro palpitant chorégraphié par Jeff Buttle, sur une musique composée par Eric Radford et Igor Vrabac, mettant en vedette Meira Alaraj, pour débuter la cérémonie d’ouverture.

De plus, Les Suprêmes senior, équipe championne canadienne de patinage synchronisé de 2020, et Nova senior, médaillée de bronze, présenteront des numéros chorégraphiés par Shae Zukiwsky, Ph. D. Ce printemps, Les Suprêmes représenteront le Canada aux Championnats du monde ISU de patinage synchronisé, à Lake Placid, aux États-Unis. 

De fantastiques prestations de l’Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, du Cirque Éloize et des Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal s’ajouteront au programme.

Dans quelques semaines, Patinage Canada accueillera le monde entier à Montréal, au Québec, pour créer l’histoire.
