SaskEnergy announced as Official Volunteer Sponsor of the 2025 Vanier Cup in Regina

U SPORTS, in collaboration with the University of Regina, is proud to welcome SaskEnergy as the Official Volunteer Sponsor of the 2025 Vanier Cup, taking place November 22 at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, home of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The partnership celebrates the 25th anniversary of SaskEnergy’s “Champion of Volunteers” program and underscores the company’s longstanding commitment to supporting community spirit and volunteerism across Saskatchewan. Through this agreement, SaskEnergy will be recognized as the Champion of Volunteers for the 2025 U SPORTS Vanier Cup and play a central role in acknowledging and celebrating the hundreds of individuals whose efforts make the championship possible.

“SaskEnergy’s 25-year commitment to uplifting volunteers adds meaningful depth to this year’s Vanier Cup,” said Pierre Arsenault, Chief Executive Officer of U SPORTS. “Their support helps us recognize the unsung heroes who bring championships to life.”

Through this partnership, SaskEnergy will be providing support for the volunteers who will help with a variety of tasks including event setup, guest services, game day operations and more. SaskEnergy will also sponsor a Volunteer Champion Award that will be presented to a dedicated and deserving Vanier Cup volunteer.

“We are proud to be the province’s Champion of Volunteers for the past 25 years, providing support for the volunteers who help make major events such as the Vanier Cup possible,” said Mark Guillet, President and CEO of SaskEnergy. “Volunteerism is a fundamental part of our corporate culture and reflects our commitment to supporting the communities we serve.”

This year’s Vanier Cup marks the return to Saskatchewan, one of Canada’s most storied football communities, and will be hosted by the University of Regina for the first time in the event’s history.

“We’re incredibly proud to welcome SaskEnergy as the Official Volunteer Sponsor of the 2025 Vanier Cup,” said Lisa Robertson, Director of Sport, Community Engagement & Athlete Development of the University of Regina. “Volunteers are the heartbeat of major events, and SaskEnergy’s unwavering commitment to recognizing their contributions perfectly aligns with our own values of community spirit and engagement. We look forward to working together to create a memorable championship experience for athletes, fans, and the volunteers who make it all possible.”

The 2025 Vanier Cup will feature the top two university football teams in the country competing for the title of national champion. With national broadcast coverage and fanfare expected across the country, the event will shine a spotlight not only on athletic excellence but also on the vital community partnerships that power Canadian university sport.
