Tom Ramshaw finishes 6th at Kiel Week
The famous Keil week wrapped up yesterday in Germany. The four day event saw some various conditions, allowing sailors to complete all scheduled races.
With the effects of COVID, the event only saw one of our Canadian Sailing Team member, Tom Ramshaw in attendance. Competing in back to back events, this sailor has been putting in the work on his journey to the 2021 Olympics.
Finishing the 2020 Finn Europeans in 25th, and Kiel in 6th place, this sailor comments, “Two regattas in back-to-back weeks was way more challenging than expected! I have a lot of training to catch up on and get back into proper racing shape in time to the 2021 season.”
Watch Tom as he continues the grind towards the Olympic Games!
Virtual Sail Canada AGM
During a 2018 board meeting, Sail Canada’s Board raised the prospect of incorporating a virtual platform for the current in-person Annual General Meeting (AGM) format. With coast-to-coast stakeholders, a virtual AGM would facilitate increased transparency, easier and more accessible stakeholder participation while lowering costs for both Sail Canada and participants. The various constraints due to COVID-19 has accelerated the urgency of a virtual AGM option. The Board has committed to having a virtual AGM option for 2020 and, going forward. The 2020 Sail Canada
AGM will be virtual only and will take place on Friday, October 16th . More details will be communicated in the near future.
