Rogers Brings Legends of Hockey to Rogers Charity Classic for $100,000 Showdown

CALGARY (July 29, 2025) – Rogers Legends of Hockey is returning to the Rogers Charity Classic at Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club. On Saturday, August 16, eight NHL and PWHL stars and alumni, along with two Alberta junior golfers, will compete for more than $100,000 for charity.

“Rogers is Canada’s home of hockey, and we’re thrilled to bring some of hockey’s best to the Rogers Charity Classic to further support children and youth across Alberta,” said Terrie Tweddle, Chief Brand and Communications Officer, Rogers.

The hockey legends are teeing off in a closest to the hole, money ball challenge on the 18th green immediately following PGA TOUR Champions play. The competition will consist of three periods plus overtime, with each player taking four shots per period. Players will be eliminated after each period, resulting in a head-to-head showdown in overtime to decide the champion, who will be awarded $100,000 to donate to a charity from the Rogers Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink program. Each participant will also receive $10,000 to benefit a Canadian charity of their choice.

Competing for the prize are:

  • Sarah Fillier, New York Sirens All-Star forward, 2025 PWHL Rookie of the Year, Canadian Olympic gold medallist, and 2024 Rogers Legends of Hockey champion
  • Dustin Wolf, Calgary Flames goaltender and Calder Memorial Trophy finalist
  • Cassie Campbell-Pascall, two-time Canadian Olympic gold medallist and special advisor to the PWHL
  • Mark Scheifele, alternate captain of the Winnipeg Jets and NHL All-Star
  • Stuart Skinner, Edmonton Oilers goaltender and NHL All-Star
  • Meaghan Mikkelson, two-time Canadian Olympic gold medallist and Calgary Flames on Sportsnet radio analyst
  • Matt Stajan, retired Calgary Flames forward and 14-year NHL veteran
  • Adin Hill, Vegas Golden Knights goaltender and 4 Nations Face-Off gold medallist with Canada

Rogers Legends of Hockey competitors will be available for public autograph signings from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in the Fan Zone and Rogers Beyond the Seat Zone.

Since its inception, the Rogers Charity Classic has raised $137.7 million for charities that support Alberta kids and youth, with a record $25.4 million raised last year.
