In December, Rowing Canada Aviron launched #SayOuiToParis, a campaign to support the National Rowing Team as they began their journey to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

More than $30,000 has been raised so far. Thanks to this generosity, athletes have continued to appreciate the extra “fuel” they receive through the Breakfast and Grocery Card programs.

Now, with just 14 months left until the Games, we are looking to build upon the initial success of #SayOuiToParis by establishing Patrons for Paris, an ongoing community of support for the National Rowing Team.

This is an exciting and crucial period of time for the National Team rowers. They are working tirelessly to ensure that they are in peak condition to compete on the world stage this summer.

On June 12th, the team will head to Europe for some international experience. The current plan includes racing at World Rowing Cup II (Varese, Italy, June 16-18), World Rowing Cup III (Lucerne, Switzerland, July 7-9), and at the Henley Royal Regatta on the Thames in London, England, June 27 to July 2.

The team will then return to Canada for final preparations and selection of the 2023 World Rowing Championships Team.

All eyes will be on the Canadian team at the World Rowing Championships, in Belgrade, Serbia this September 3–10, as this will be the first opportunity to qualify Canadian boats for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

JOIN THE JOURNEY

Patrons for Paris is an opportunity for supporters to join the team on their journey to Paris 2024. We hope you will consider becoming a valuable member of a supportive community that will embrace the team and help them achieve best possible result on the international stage.

By signing up as a monthly, or one-time donor, you can make a significant impact on the team’s preparations for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Your contribution will provide the vital extra financial support the team needs to succeed.

More importantly, it will touch the hearts, minds, and souls of the athletes, inspiring them to continue giving their all every day. Our Patrons for Paris will be recognized at the National Training Centre in ways that the team will see, touch, and feel on their daily journey to Paris. Donors will also receive special updates including photos and videos generated by members of the team providing appreciation as well as an inside view of the team’s training activities.
