Dresden, Germany (January 25, 2025) – On Saturday, Canada was represented on the podium twice at the Dresden Cup synchronized skating competition in Germany.
Les Suprêmes Senior from Saint-Léonard, Quebec, captured the silver medal with a cumulative total of 218.36 points. The reigning world champions were awarded the highest score in Friday’s short program (77.49) and took the lead in the provisional standings. However, two falls during Saturday’s free program earned them a score of 140.87, which was not enough to keep the Canadians in first place. They nevertheless secured the second spot on the podium. The Marigold Ice Unity team from Finland was the only team to edge out Les Suprêmes, with 221 points. The Haydenettes, of the USA, finished third with 215.31.
“Despite making a few errors, we delivered a good program. We worked very hard all week, and today we saw [the difference] in the elements we wanted to improve. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made,” said team co-captain Olivia Di Giandomenico.

“Our free program went well, and we’re very proud of our performance! We worked hard to tighten up some of our technical elements, and we’re very happy with the result,” said Gabriella Musi, co-captain of Les Suprêmes Junior.
