Wednesday, February 23, 2022, Ottawa, ON….Sport Tourism Canada and Edmonton Events are pleased to announce that the new dates for Sport Events Congress 2022 are now confirmed. The event will be held November 2-3-4, 2022 in Edmonton!

As the leader of the $7.4 billion sport tourism sector, Sport Tourism Canada has staged Sport Events Congress since 2001. It draws together all segments of Canada’s sport tourism industry leaders including destination tourism professionals, sport events rights holders, event management firms, hoteliers, the education sector and elected officials. SEC22 promises to be everything that attendees know and love about Congress – interactive, educational, opportunities for business-to-business networking, evening social events (including an Edmonton Oilers NHL match-up at Rogers Place), and plenty of fun! View the preliminary schedule here.

Since the pandemic has significantly altered sport hosting in Canada, SEC22 programming will focus on recovery and supporting the sport tourism industry to bounce back. All of the recommended local health protocols will be in place, along with some extra safety measures that Sport Tourism Canada believes are necessary to keep all delegates safe.

For now, anyone interested in attending is encouraged to re-save the date for SEC22 on November 2-3-4 in Edmonton. Early bird registration will re-open on March 1st. Anyone already registered who has questions about the status of their registration, given the new event dates, please contact the SEC22 Registration Manager, Heather Harcott at hharcott@sporttourismcanada.com.
