National Excellence Program restarts in Gatineau

August 28, 2020: Volleyball Canada’s National Excellence Program (NEP) for men starts on September 2 in Gatineau, Quebec.

“The NEP has restarted with a targeted group of athletes, which includes national team members as well as invited university or younger athletes,” said head coach Dan Lewis. “After a modified training season and the cancellation of most competitions due to the pandemic, we are excited to get back into the gym with this talented group of players.”

The program will run to December at the Centre sportif de Gatineau, with the possibility of extension depending on several factors, including local health guidelines.

The National Excellence Program is designed to prepare athletes to perform at the highest level of our sport and to continue their development towards the national senior team and/or playing professional volleyball.

The women’s program begins the following week in Richmond, B.C.  A full list of participants and more information will be announced shortly.
