This September 21st-29th marks National Coaches Week. A week to celebrate the tremendous and positive impact coaches have across Canada. This week is an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play by simply saying #ThanksCoach
 
Please see below for all the professional development, and training opportunities happening throughout Nova Scotia during the week.

FREE NCCP eLearning Workshops
The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is the nationally recognized coaching certification program in Canada. They have unlimited resources in all facets of coaching, and provide regular coaching workshops and seminars throughout the year. From planning a practice, to coaching and leading effectively. All of which will help with your coaching in one way or another.
 
From September 21-29, 2019, access the NCCP eLearning page in the Locker for numerous FREE online training opportunities. Workshops include:
  • NCCP Making Head Way in Sport,
  • NCCP Coaching Athletes with a Disability,
  • NCCP Coach Initiation in Sport, and
  • NCCP Emergency Action Plan.

Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic & Coaching NS Workshops
The Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic in partnership with Sport Nova Scotia, the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation and the Government of Nova Scotia, will be offering professional development opportunities across the province FREE of charge. Topics vary across 6 regions in Nova Scotia, and were selected based off coach feedback. Click here to learn more!
 
Coach Nova Scotia will be providing numerous NCCP workshops over the fall & winter months. For more information, and a complete workshop schedule, click here.
 
 
NSGA Junior Development Workshop
The NSGA is planning a Junior Development Workshop for community coaches, and member clubs. The main objective of this interactive workshop is to assist members in developing top class junior programs. This workshop will include talks by industry leaders, a look into Future Links programming and Long Term Athlete Development, and more.
 
This workshop will be taking place Saturday November 23 2019 at the Futures Inn Bayers Lake.
 
As we continue to develop the content of this workshop, the NSGA would appreciate your feedback. If you are interested in attending, please complete this survey, informing us on which subjects you feel would worth discussing.

VIP Coach Program
VIP Coach Program was created by the Canadian Sport Centre – Atlantic, to recognize the contribution of coaches in communities across Nova Scotia. VIP is not a certification or requirement, but rather a proactive opportunity for coaches to continue to excel in ethical leadership. This program is designed to raise the bar for what it means to be a coach in Nova Scotia
 
If accepted as a vip coach, you will receive the following:
  • Under Armour Kit and Discounts 
  • Connections with a variety of coaches across Nova Scotia
  • Professional Development opportunities and resources
  • Financial support to complete required NCCP courses
