Minister Duncan Announces New Federal Government Representative to CAC Board of Directors

Coaching Association of Canada – OTTAWA, ON, July 17, 2019 – The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) welcomes the nomination by the Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Sport, of Sue Hylland, to its Board of Directors. Ms. Hylland will hold the position of Federal Government Representative, effective immediately.

Ms. Hylland is Director of Sports Services at the University of Ottawa. She is a past President and CEO of the Canada Games Council and a past Executive Director of the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS). She also spent nearly 18 years with the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) in the Sport and Technical Games areas, which included participation in 10 Olympic and Pan American Games.

“Sue will bring tremendous experience to our board,” said Paul Carson, Chair of the CAC’s Board of Directors. “Her extensive multi-sport experience, national perspective, and success as a sport administrator will be instrumental to our efforts to increase diversity and inclusion in the sport system in Canada; we look forward to benefitting from her insights.”

Born in Montreal and residing in Ottawa, Ms. Hylland joins newly elected members Susan Lamboo of Winnipeg, Dr. René Murphy of Wolfville, Mathieu Boucher of Gatineau, and Janice Dawson of Ottawa.
