Jane Casson Recognized as Dressage Volunteer of the Month for September 2019

Equestrian Canada – Ottawa, ON, Oct. 16, 2019 – Equestrian Canada (EC) is pleased to announce that Jane Casson of Belleville, ON, has been selected as the recipient of the Dressage Volunteer of the Month Award for September 2019.

Casson, who has been involved with dressage for more than fifty years, passionately cares about every aspect of the sport and horse welfare. As a member of the Quinte-St. Lawrence Branch of CADORA (QSLB), she participates in all capacities, from judging local schooling shows to entering in QSLB dressage competitions. She is also a QSLB Board Member, and has acted as secretary for numerous years.

Casson is always there to offer her help as a show organizer, scribe, scorer, runner or just an extra set of hands. QSLB has one competition venue in which the dressage arena must be put up and taken down, and Casson is always there to lend her assistance: Her unfailing presence to complete this task is an absolute blessing at the end of a long day. If someone is needed to help organize a show, Casson is the first person called due to her experience, organizational skills and willingness to be of service.

It is the strong support of volunteers like Casson that helps equestrian sport thrive, and EC extends its heartfelt thanks for the years of volunteering she has dedicated to dressage.

If you know of a volunteer who deserves recognition, nominations are quick and easy through the EC website. Nominations for the award are accepted until the 20th day of each month, making October 20 the next deadline to submit the name of a volunteer who has made a difference to the sport of dressage. Questions and comments on the Dressage Volunteer of the Month Award can be directed to Christine Peters at cpeters@equestrian.ca.
