OTTAWA, ON (January 22, 2025) – Gymnastics Canada is pleased to announce the election of Sophiane Méthot as the new Chair of the Athletes’ Commission.
The Athletes’ Commission plays a vital role in representing and promoting the views and interests of national team members and Gymnastics Canada (GymCan) athletes. By amplifying the voices of athletes, the Commission strengthens GymCan’s commitment to excellence and athlete-centered leadership.
“I am truly honored to have been chosen as your athlete representative,” said Sophiane Méthot. “With gratitude and enthusiasm, I accept this role and will do my utmost to advocate for the interests of all athletes.”
In her role as Chair, Sophiane will serve as an active member on GymCan’s Board of Directors. She will collaborate with fellow Commission members to ensure athletes are actively involved in decision-making and feedback processes, and that GymCan’s policies and programs align with their needs.
