The Fox 40 Coach of the Year will be honoured at all U SPORTS national championships during pre-championship All-Canadian Awards galas in team sports and post-competition banquets or award ceremonies in individual sports.
The Fox 40 Pealess Whistle was invented in 1987 by Ron Foxcroft – the first and only Canadian referee in NCAA basketball, who also officiated at the U SPORTS level – and has become the industry standard across numerous sports.
“The Fox 40 Coach of the Year Award aligns with Ron, his son and the whole company’s values,” said U SPORTS President and CEO Graham Brown. “Along with supporting players, they believe in supporting coaches and referees too. Ron is a big believer that coaches allow players to focus on the game, so he continues to find ways to recognize them. We’re honoured to partner with Fox 40 to recognize the best in U SPORTS.”
