Exciting_New_Free_Resource_for_para_athletes-_Funded_by_SSHRC_and_Sport_Canada
As world renowned researchers and mental performance consultants in the field of sport psychology and disability sport (Frank Ely PhD student, Dr. Krista Chandler, Dr. Todd Loughead, Dr. Jeffrey Martin), we are excited to share with you the launch of our FREE online psychological skills training (PST) program for athletes with a disability. These 8 interactive online modules, focused on such skills as goal setting, routines and arousal regulation, are evidence based and designed specifically for para athletes. This was funded by SSHRC as Sport Canada.
To learn more about our feel online PST Program for athletes with a disability, please visit our website: www.learnpst.com
We are hoping that you can share this exciting opportunity with your members (athletes, coaches, organizations, parents). In addition to the 8 modules, athletes will be asked to complete several surveys, which will allow us to evaluate the effectiveness of the online modules. This research study is funded by Sport Canada and has received clearance from the University of Windsor Research Ethics Board.
As the organization, I would ask that you assist me by distributing an electronic flyer outlining the study information, target participants, contact information, and link to access the free modules and participate in our study. This distribution may be through whatever means you see fit, such as your organization or personal social media (e.g., Twitter, Instagram) account, or by using an e-mail distribution list. Our goal is to recruit as many youth athletes with a disability as possible.
We have included separate attachments with “electronic flyers” compatible with various social media platform (Twitter, Instagram/Facebook, LinkedIn).
The potential impact of a PST program on athletes with a physical disability is far reaching. In addition to the improvement of sport performance, PST programs have the potential to improve psychological skills, as well as to positively impact well-being in sport and life.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of the research team members below.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
