Event Entries Confirmed for 2021 Canadian Diving Trials
Quota spots will be on the line in all four individual events
(June 28, 2021 – Toronto) The top springboard and tower divers in the country have assembled at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre to determine who will be heading to Tokyo with Team Canada in a few short weeks.
Nineteen athletes have accepted their invitation to compete at these diving trials in what will be an intimate, but exciting competition.

Notable Omissions
Meaghan Benfeito, Women’s 10m
- Meaghan has received a pre-nomination for the 10m individual event from Diving Plongeon Canada. She is on-site at the trials to train, but will not compete.
Vincent Riendeau, Men’s 10m
- Vincent has declined his invitation for the 10m individual event to focus his effort solely on the 10m synchro event. He is on-site at the trials to train, but will not compete.
Philippe Gagné, Men’s 3m
- Philippe has elected not to compete at these trials in order to continue focusing on the rehabilitation plan put in place following his late withdrawal at the 2021 FINA Diving World Cup.

Through qualification at the 2019 FINA World Aquatic Championships and the 2021 FINA Diving World Cup, Canada has secured the following spots for the Olympics:

Broadcast Plans
The entire event is set to be streamed live online through CBC Sports and Radio-Canada Sports.
The competition will also be broadcast in English on CBC’s Road to the Olympic Games and in French on RDS. CBC’s broadcasts include;
- July 3 – 12:00 – 14:00 (Women’s 3m and Men’s 10m)
- July 4 – 13:00 – 14:00 (Women’s 10m)
RDS will broadcast two premieres on tape-delay following the event with repeats to follow throughout the month of July. The RDS and RDS2 broadcast schedules will be released shortly after the trials.
Media Requests
Due to strict COVID protocols, no on-site media will be permitted. Access to athletes will be made available on a virtual basis upon request. High resolution photos will be available through Diving Plongeon Canada.
