Mark McMorris Nabs Slopestyle World Cup Bronze
Less than a week after hosting the World Snowboard Championships, Aspen, CO became the venue for Saturday’s FIS World Cup Slopestyle event. Redmond Gerard (USA) stomped his run into silver, and Marcus Kleveland (NOR) took the gold.
Fellow Canadian Max Parrot (Bromont, QC), just missed out on a podium, ending his day in 4th. Liam Brearley (Gravenhurst, ON) put down some clean, technical and stylish runs that landed him in 7th. On the women’s side, Laurie Blouin (Stoneham, QC) ended up in 7th.
In Halfpipe, Elizabeth Hosking (Longueuil, QC) was the lone Canadian competing in finals, grabbing the 5thspot, equaling her career best finish in a World Cup competition.
