TORONTO – U SPORTS has unveiled the Canadian ski teams set to compete at the 2025 FISU Winter World University Games in Turin, Italy.
Canada will be represented by 18 athletes across two disciplines: 11 in alpine skiing and eight in ski cross. Remarkably, student-athlete Penny Robinson will compete in both categories.
The alpine skiing events, scheduled from January 13 to 22, will feature the Super-G, alpine combined, slalom, giant slalom, and mixed team parallel competitions. Ski cross races will follow from January 20 to 22. All events are set to take place at the historic Bardonecchia Ski Club, one of Italy’s oldest ski resorts.
Leading the Canadian alpine skiing team is Martin Côté, head coach of the Université Laval Rouge et Or. Supporting him are Michel Huot, former head coach of the Université de Montréal Carabins, making his fifth appearance at the FISU Games, and Milan Arsovski of the University of Calgary.
The Canadian ski cross team will be coached by Mark Bobyn, Jason Oliemans, and Kiersten Vincett. A former University of Calgary Dino, Vincett competed at the 2023 FISU Games in Lake Placid and now returns in a new role, coaching some of her former teammates.
