Duncan McDonald named Canada Soccer’s 2024 Para Player of the Year

First-time win for B.C. native

Duncan McDonald has been named Canada Soccer’s 2024 Para Player of the Year as selected by the National Team Program. ​ 
At the 2024 IFCPF World Cup, he played every minute in Canada’s 12th place finish. McDonald was given the captain’s armband following Samuel Charron’s injury, leading Canada at multiple games in the tournament.

He finished the World Cup with the most tackles, clearances and blocked shots for Canada.
Canada Soccer will announce their 2024 Canada Soccer Player Awards winners this week. Voting for the 2024 Players of the Year is underway. Canada Soccer coaching staffs from their respective programs will determine Canada Soccer’s Young, Futsal and Para Players of the Year.

  • December 20 – Canada Soccer Player of the Year winners announced
