Department of Canadian Heritage has received an application to host the first “WORLD CHILDREN`S ICE HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP” in Canada in 2022

On 28 June 2020, the Minister of Canadian Heritage, the Honourable Steven Guilbeault, received an application to host the “WORLD CHILDREN`S ICE HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP” (abbreviated as “WCIHC”) in 2022.

Initially the organizing committee was planned that the first “WCIHC”  would be held in 2020, but due to COVID-19 is desided to postpone the championship to 2022.

What is “WORLD CHILDREN`S ICE HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP”?

It is an annual sports competition for young hockey players.

The Championship is being held under the auspices of the International public organization “INTERNATIONAL HOCKEY FEDERATION” (abbreviated as “IHF”), is aimed at children between 7 to 15 years old and is planned in such a way that each team of young athletes received an award and positive emotions from participation in the competition.

Hockey teams from more than 30 countries from around the world are expected to take part in the championship.
