Team Manitoba – Team Manitoba continues at the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games

Phase one of the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games has officially come to an end, and our athletes did a fantastic job. We finished the first phase with a total of 80 medals, 29 gold, 26 silver and 25 bronze.

The canoe/kayak team had an incredible week at the Games winning 37 medals total. Every single athlete on the team left Swift Current with at least one medal in hand. The girls softball team went undefeated and took home the gold medal yesterday after winning against Saskatchewan 8-1. Our beach volleyball players picked up several medals, with our female teams winning gold and silver, and one of our male teams also winning gold. Meanwhile, both our male and female soccer teams have arrived back in Winnipeg with silver medals around their necks. Lastly, our male and female basketball teams took home bronze after a morning of basketball yesterday.

Our phase one athletes are officially back in Winnipeg, and our phase two athletes are here and ready to compete! Phase two includes: athletics, baseball, diving, golf, rowing, tennis, triathlon, volleyball and wrestling.
