COC statement on Federal Government’s announced plan to provide $30 million for the promotion of accessible, safe, ethical and equitable sport

Canadian Olympic Committee – TORONTO (March 19, 2019) –  The Canadian Olympic Committee stands together with our National Sport Federations in applauding the federal government’s announced plan to provide $30 million over the next five years to promote accessible, safe, ethical, and equitable sport.

Minister Kirsty Duncan has been a tireless advocate to end abuse, discrimination, and harassment in sport. Whether you compete for Team Canada, or dream to do so one day, you should be able to do it in a healthy and safe environment.

We thank Minister Duncan, Finance Minister Bill Morneau and the federal government for this significant investment directed to make sure Canadians of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities are able to access the full benefits and joy of sport.
