Celebrate National Coaches Week in Manitoba Sept.18-26, 2020

September 18, 2021 – Winnipeg MB – National Coaches Week encourages Canadians to say thanks and to celebrate the tremendous positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities. This week is an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play by simply saying #ThanksCoach.

“Coaches have a significant and lasting impact on young people. They develop them as athletes and teammates, which leads into their development as people in our communities. This week is about recognizing this impact and saying thank you. To the dedicated and talented coaches across the country, we are grateful for all that you do, and we will continue to support you in your fundamental role in the sport system,“ said Janet McMahon, President & CEO, Sport Manitoba.

This week puts a spotlight on coaches and gives this, largely volunteer, integral, part of Canadian sport a thanks. In Manitoba, we have more than 14,200 certified coaches.

In these uncertain times, signing up to devote time to empower, train, and lead our young athletes while giving back to the amateur sport system is valuable now more than ever. Coaches, we are so grateful you chose to come back. Here’s what is happening in Manitoba during the 7th annual National Coaches Week:
