CBC Sports expands live coverage of U SPORTS Men’s and Women’s Hockey Championships

U SPORTS is excited to announce that CBC Sports will provide live broadcast coverage of the gold medal games from both the 2026 U SPORTS Men’s and Women’s Hockey Championships onSunday, March 22, 2026 on CBC TV and CBC Gem.  

For the first time, Canadian university hockey’s national champions will be crowned live on CBC TV, showcasing the skill, speed, and passion of U SPORTS student-athletes to fans across the country. 

The entire 2026 U SPORTS men’s and women’s hockey championships will be broadcast on CBC Sports digital platforms, including CBC Gem, cbcsports.ca and CBC Sports’ YouTube channel. The championships will also be covered in French by Radio-Canada Sports digital platform (ICI Tou.tv) while TVA Sports provides French-language television coverage of both gold medal games.   

The 2026 Women’s Hockey Championship, hosted in Waterloo Region in Ontario, will be produced by Dome Productions. In Halifax, Nova Scotia, the 2026 Men’s Hockey Championship, all digital broadcasts will be produced by Universum Media Inc., with Dome Productions handling the television production of the gold medal game for CBC. 

Each championship features eight of the top U SPORTS men’s and women’s hockey programs, including the host Waterloo Warriors (women’s hockey) and the Saint Mary’s University Huskies (men’s hockey), who earn direct entry into the respective tournaments.  

U SPORTS also announced today the schedule for the championships.
