“I’m really excited to get started. This camp is the first step in building the foundation for what we want to achieve in 2025 and beyond. Each of these teams will present unique challenges, and it’s a great opportunity to assess the players and see where the team is at.” Explained Casey Stoney, Women’s National Team Head Coach
Canada and China PR have a rich history of competition, having faced each other 27 times since 1988. Their most recent encounter was a 1-0 victory for Canada in an international friendly ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. With an overall record of 8 wins, 5 draws, and 14 losses, Canada has enjoyed success in recent encounters, having won their last 7 matchups against China PR.
Canada and Mexico have developed a competitive rivalry within Concacaf women’s football, regularly meeting in key tournaments and qualification competitions. Canada has traditionally held the upper hand, with a record of 22 wins, 3 losses, and 3 draws. The teams last met in June 2024 as part of a two-match Summer Send-Off Series ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Canada emerged victorious in the first match with a 2-0 win in Montréal, while the second match in Toronto ended in a 1-1 draw.
Canada and Chinese Taipei have met just once in history, with their sole encounter taking place in December 1987, resulting in a 2-0 loss for Canada. This upcoming match presents a great opportunity for Canada to face a different playing style.
