CANWNT Roster Unveiled for April Home Matches

Canada Soccer has announced the 23-player squad set to represent Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team (CANWNT) as they return to home soil for an exciting pair of international friendlies against Argentina during the April FIFA window. This will mark CANWNT’s head coach Casey Stoney’s home debut, as she leads the team into their second window of the 2025 calendar. 

The friendly series will see Canada, ranked number seven in the FIFA world rankings, take on 33-ranked Argentina at BC Place in Vancouver on Friday, 4 April, at 19:30 PT (22:30 ET) before concluding the action at Starlight Stadium in Langford on Tuesday, 8 April, at 19:00 PT (22:00 ET). ​

Canada enters the series with a perfect record against Argentina, winning all six previous meetings dating back to 2003. Their most recent clash saw Canada earn a 2-0 victory on 6 October 2022, in Cadiz, Spain. 

Earlier this February, under the new leadership of head coach Casey Stoney, CANWNT were crowned the champions of the 2025 Pinatar Cup. The team recorded a 1-1 draw against China PR, a 2-0 win over Mexico, and a 7-0 win over Chinese Taipei, finishing top of the table and capturing their first piece of silverware in Stoney’s tenure. ​ 

CANWNT SQUAD 
​Canada’s three goalkeepers for the window are Sabrina D’Angelo from Aston Villa WFC, Lysianne Proulx from Juventus FC, and Kailen Sheridan from San Diego Wave FC. 

The defenders selected are Gabrielle Carle from Washington Spirit, Vanessa Gilles from FCF Olympique Lyonnais, Ashley Lawrence from Chelsea FC, Jayde Riviere from Manchester United FC, Jade Rose from Harvard University, Bianca St-Georges from Utah Royals FC, and Shelina Zadorsky from West Ham United FC. 

Joining the midfield are Marie-Yasmine Alidou and Jessie Fleming from Portland Thorns FC, Julia Grosso from Chicago Red Stars, Quinn from Vancouver Rise FC, Emma Regan from AFC Toronto, and Carly Wickenheiser from BK Häcken. 

Rounding out the squad are forwards Clarissa Larisey from Crystal Palace, Adriana Leon from San Diego Wave FC, Nichelle Prince from Kansas City Current, Deanne Rose from Leicester City WFC, Olivia Smith from Liverpool FC, Janine Sonis from Racing Louisville FC, and Evelyne Viens from AS Roma. 

Simi Awujo from Manchester United FC, Kadeisha Buchanan from Chelsea FC, Sydney Collins from NC Courage, Jordyn Huitema from OL Reign, and Cloé Lacasse from Utah Royals FC were all unavailable for selection due to injury.

Following the submission of the online form, group organizers will be contacted to confirm payment details and complete the processing of tickets.
