PARTICIPACTION COMMUNITY BETTER CHALLENGE MICRO-GRANTS

GRANTS NOW OPEN!

The ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge is back for another year from June 1 – 21, 2020. Organizations, schools, sport groups and workplaces are encouraged to get active, host events and track minutes to help their community be named Canada’s Most Active Community and win $150,000 toward local physical activity initiatives.

Organizations can apply for a micro-grant from January 27 – February 28 to support their events during the challenge period. Learn more here.

MARATHON CANOE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2020

The Rideau 2020 organizing committee is pleased to announce our partnership with HTG Sports as our exclusive travel partner for the 2020 nationals in Ottawa.  The success of our event relies on the combination of dedicated volunteers and established partnerships with our sponsors. Those clubs and individuals requiring hotel accommodations are asked to book only through HTG Sports. 

HTG Sports has secured blocks at all participating host hotels so be sure to contact them early to book your rooms. We thank you in advance for your support.

CALL FOR CANOE SLALOM TECHNICAL OFFICIALS

Canoe Kayak Canada is seeking qualified candidates who are willing to file the role of Chief Judge, Assistant Chief Judge as well as Chief Scoring Officer at the Canoe Slalom Team Trials and National Championships. The positions of Chief Judge, Assistant Chief Judge and Chief Scoring Officer are unpaid volunteer positions. Interested candidates are invited to submit an expression of interest in accordance with the guidelines set out in this notice.

2020 Canoe Slalom Team Trials

The Team Trials will be held in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, QC from May 4-10, with slalom competitions held the 9th – 10th.

2020 Canoe Slalom National Championships

The Whitewater National Championships will be held in Chilliwack, BC from August 3-9, with slalom competitions held the 8th – 9th

CKC STATEMENT: LAURENCE VINCENT LAPOINTE Ottawa, ON (January 27, 2020) – Canoe Kayak Canada (CKC) is pleased with the decision issued today by the International Canoe Federation (ICF)’s Doping Control Panel in the matter involving Laurence Vincent Lapointe. The ICF Doping Control Panel found that Ms. Vincent Lapointe bore no fault or negligence for the anti-doping rule violation that was asserted against her in August 2019, which means that she will not face any further consequences and allows her to immediately return to full-time training with the National Team.
