DRESDEN, GERMANY – After almost two months away from international competition, Canada’s short track team will return to racing action this weekend in Dresden, Germany for the penultimate ISU World Cup Short Track. The event runs from February 1-3 at the EnergieVerbund Arena.

The Canadians will look to add to the 12 medals – three gold, three silver and six bronze – they have captured on the World Cup circuit so far this season. Two athletes join the team that earned an impressive six podium finishes at the last event in Kazakhstan: Courtney Sarault of Moncton, N.B., fresh off a bronze medal performance at the World Junior Championships in Montreal, and Kasandra Bradette of St. Félicien, Que., a seasoned athlete with fifteen World Cup medals to her name.

The competition gets underway Friday with the qualifying races in all distances. The finals for the men’s and ladies 1000m(1) and 1500m races will take place on Saturday, while those for the men’s and ladies 500m and 1000m(2) races, along with all three relays (men’s, ladies and mixed gender) are set for Sunday.

A detailed event schedule and live results can be found on the ISU Results Portal. The races will be live streamed via the ISU’s YouTube channel on Friday and online through CBC Sports on Saturday (6:00am EST) and Sunday (6:00am EST).
