Canadian long track speed skating team hosting Calgary’s second annual Dash on Ice to kick off 2025 ISU World Cup Speed Skating

CALGARY, ALBERTA – Olympic and Paralympic athletes, media personalities and corporates executives, will be strapping on the long blades and teaming up with Canada’s best long track speed skaters to determine the fastest relay team on ice during a media day in Calgary on Thursday, January 9 at 12:00pm.

In addition to announcing event details and unveiling the Canadian skaters that will compete during the ISU World Cup Speed Skating‘s return to Calgary, many of city’s athletes and community leaders will form relay teams in hopes of posting the fastest 400-meter time during Speed Skating Canada’s second annual Dash on Ice.

Guests will be teamed up with the over 20 athletes who will represent Canada on home ice at the third ISU World Cup competition of the season, which will take place January 24-26 at the Olympic Oval. National Team athletes will offer on-ice instruction on how to speed skate, before competitors’ put their skills to the test and race to crown this year’s winning team.
