Canadian Judo Gold Medalist Christa Deguchi Visits Winnipeg

Canadian Olympian Christa Deguchi is on a Judo Canada/Ford-sponsored cross-Canada tour and will be in Winnipeg on Sunday, November 10 and 11, 2024.

She started judo at the tender age of three and has an impressive history of medaling at national and international judo events; however, she made history at the Paris 2024 Olympic Summer Games.

Christa won Canada’s first Olympic gold medal in judo (women’s 57 kg category)! Christa has strong personal and family ties to Manitoba and Japan.

Christa will be at Sport Manitoba (145 Pacific Avenue, Winnipeg, court #2) on Sunday, November 10th, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will be available for media interviews after 12:30. She will also be at the Judo Provincial Training Center (439 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg) from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and will be available for media interviews after 3.
