Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame – On Thursday, May 23, 2019, Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame will announce the 2019 Hall of Fame inductees, including six Athletes, and two sport “Builders.” The media conference will be emceed by Hall of Famer and Olympic Swimming Gold Medalist in the 100m backstroke, Mark Tewksbury. Induction into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame is the highest sporting honour in Canada. The individuals selected to receive this honour inspire Canadians on a local, provincial and national level that transcends sport and competition.

That evening, Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame is holding its 5th Annual Inspire Canada Museum Gala, presented by Enbridge. In previous years, we have supported our Girls in Sport initiative with this Gala, and through those efforts we are excited to announce that the Women in Sports Exhibit will be opening on May 23, 2019, the night of the Gala, with attendees getting the very first viewing. Without the community’s generous support over the past years, we would have not been able to develop this new gallery and we look forward to sharing videos, artefacts and stories of the amazing women with the more than 500 in attendance. We are excited to continue this fundraising Gala by shifting our focus to our education and outreach to schools across Canada. A portion of each ticket or sponsorship will go toward building Canada through sport by providing Hall of Famer appearances at school assemblies and continue to develop curriculum aligned programs with the role of sport in Canadian culture and communities. The evening introduces the 2019 Hall of Fame inductees in discussion with Cassie Campbell-Pascall, musical guest performance by country star Trevor Panczak, and Honourary Co-Chairs Cassie Campbell-Pascall and Heather Culbert. Your host for the evening is Dave Kelly.

The 2019 Induction Festival and Formal program takes place on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, in Toronto, and will be broadcast post event on Sportsnet.
