OTTAWA, ON: Skate Canada will have a total of 11 skaters competing at the 2022 Egna Spring Trophy in Egna, Italy. Canada will have two entries in junior men, three entries in junior women, three entries in novice men and three entries in novice women. The event will take place April 7-10, 2022.  

Grayson Long, 14, Toronto, Ont., will be the first entry in junior men. Long finished second at both the 2022 Skate Canada Challenge and 2022 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships. He is coached by Brian Orser in Toronto, Ont.   

David Shteyngart, 16, Ottawa, Ont., is the second Canadian entry in junior men. Domestically Shteyngart competed at the novice level. At both the 2022 Skate Canada Challenge and 2022 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships Shteyngart captured gold. He is coached by Darlene Jospeh in Ottawa, Ont. 

Abbie Balzter, 13, Hamilton, Ont., will be the first of three entries for Canada in junior women. Balzter competed at the novice level for the 2022 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships where she came in third place. Balzter is coached by Jen Jackson and Bryce Davison in Hamilton, Ont.  

Fiona Bombardier, 16, Newmarket, Ont., is the second Candian entry in junior women. Bombardier had a promising 2022 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships where she came in second taking home the silver medal in the junior ladies event. She is coached by Ken Rose in Richmond, Ont.  

Angelina Grant, 13, Edmonton, Alta., is the third and final entry in junior women. Grant competed at the novice level for the 2022 Skate Canada Challenge where she placed second. Grant also took part in the 2022 Canadian Tire National Skating Championship where she placed eighth. She is coached by Katherine Co-Grant in Edmonton, Alta.   

David Bondar, 15, Richmond Hill, Ont., is the first Canadian entry in novice men. Domestically Bondar has had two top five placements as he finished second at the 2022 Skate Canada Challenge and fifth at the 2022 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships. Bondar is coached by Tracey Wainman and Grzegorz Filipowski in Richmond Hill, Ont.  

David Li, 14, Vancouver, B.C., will be the second entry in novice men.  Li had a good Skate Canada Challenge where he brought home a bronze medal. Li is coached by Eileen Murphy and Keegan Murphy and in Richmond, B.C.  

Edward Nicholas Vasii, 15, Montreal, Que., is the third and final Canadian entry in novice men. Nicholas Vasii placed in the top four at both the 2022 Skate Canada Challenge and the 2022 Canadian Tire National Skating Championship. He is coached by Yvan Desjardins in Montreal, Que.  

Hetty Shi, 13, Mississauga, Ont will be the first Canadian entry in novice women. Shi claimed top spot on the podium at the 2022 Canadian Tire National Skating Championship. Shi also finished seventh at the 2022 Skate Canada Challenge. Shi is coached by Andrew Evens, Paul Parkinson and Laurisa Wyant in Mississauga, Ont.   

Lulu Lin, 13, Oakville, Ont., is the second entry for Canada in novice women. Lin had two top 10 placements at the junior level at both the 2022 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships and the 2022 Skate Canada Challenge. Lin is coached by Paul Parkinson and Andrew Evans in Mississauga, Ont.   

Kara Yun, 13, Vancouver, B.C., is the final Canadian entry for novice women. Yun captured two medals domestically as she finished second at the 2022 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships and third at the 2022 Skate Canada Challenge. She is coached by Joanne McLeod and Neil Wilson in Vancouver, B.C.  

Manon Perron, Skate Canada High Performance Advisor, and Andre Bourgois, Skate Canada NextGen Director, will be the team leaders at the event. Physiotherapist Emma Lis will be the Canadian medical staff on site. Laura Carr of Kelowna, B.C., will be the Canadian official at the event.

OTTAWA (ONT.) – Patinage Canada comptera un total de 11 patineurs concourant au Trophée du printemps d’Egna 2022, à Egna, en Italie. Le Canada aura deux inscriptions chez les hommes juniors, trois chez les femmes juniors, trois inscriptions pour les hommes novices et trois pour les femmes novices. L’événement se tiendra du 7 au 10 avril 2022.  

Grayson Long, 14 ans, de Toronto, Ont., sera la première inscription dans la catégorie des hommes juniors. Grayson a terminé en deuxième place au Défi Patinage Canada 2022 et aux Championnats nationaux de patinage Canadian Tire 2022. Il s’entraîne avec Brian Orser, à Toronto, Ont.

Au Défi Patinage Canada 2022 et aux Championnats nationaux de patinage Canadian Tire 2022, David a été médaillé d’or. Il s’entraîne avec Darlene Joseph, à Ottawa, Ont. 

Abbie Balzter, 13 ans, de Hamilton, Ont., sera la première des trois inscriptions du Canada pour les femmes juniors. Elle a concouru au niveau novice, aux Championnats nationaux de patinage Canadian Tire 2022, où elle a terminé en troisième place. Jen Jackson et Bryce Davison entraînent Abbie, à Hamilton, Ont.  

Fiona Bombardier, 16 ans, de Newmarket, Ont., est la deuxième inscription canadienne dans la discipline des femmes juniors. Fiona a présenté une performance prometteuse aux Championnats nationaux de patinage Canadian Tire 2022, où elle s’est classée deuxième et a gagné la médaille d’argent dans l’épreuve féminine junior. Elle s’entraîne avec Ken Rose, à Richmond, Ont.  

Angelina Grant, 13 ans, d’Edmonton, Alb., est la troisième et dernière inscription pour les femmes juniors. Elle a concouru au niveau novice, au Défi Patinage Canada 2022, terminant en deuxième place. Angela a aussi pris part aux Championnats nationaux de patinage Canadian Tire 2022 et obtenu un classement en huitième place. Katherine Co-Grant l’entraîne à Edmonton, Alb.   

David Bondar, 15 ans, de Richmond Hill, Ont., est la première inscription canadienne chez les hommes novices. Au niveau national, David a obtenu deux classements parmi les cinq premières places, ayant terminé deuxième au Défi Patinage Canada 2022 et cinquième aux Championnats nationaux de patinage Canadian Tire 2022. David s’entraîne avec Tracey Wainman et Grzegorz Filipowski, à Richmond Hill, Ont.  

David Li, 14 ans, de Vancouver, C.-B., sera la deuxième inscription dans la catégorie des hommes novices. Li a présenté une bonne performance au Défi Patinage Canada, qui lui a permis de remporter la médaille de bronze. Eileen Murphy et Keegan Murphy entraînent Li, à Richmond, C.-B.  

Edward Nicholas Vasii, 15 ans, de Montréal, Qc, est la troisième et dernière inscription pour les hommes novices. Edward a terminé parmi les quatre premiers au Défi Patinage Canada 2022 et aux Championnats nationaux de patinage Canadian Tire 2022. Il s’entraîne avec Yvan Desjardins, à Montréal, Qc.  

Hetty Shi, 13 ans, de Mississauga, Ont. sera la première inscription canadienne dans la discipline des femmes novices. Hetty a gravi la plus haute marche du podium aux Championnats nationaux de patinage Canadian Tire 2022. Elle a aussi terminé en septième place au Défi Patinage Canada 2022. Andrew Evens, Paul Parkinson et Laurisa Wyant entraînent Hetty, à Mississauga, Ont.   

Lulu Lin, 13 ans, Oakville, Ont., est la deuxième inscription du Canada pour les femmes novices. Lulu a obtenu deux classements parmi les dix premières places au niveau junior, aux Championnats nationaux de patinage Canadian Tire 2022 et au Défi Patinage Canada 2022. Elle s’entraîne avec Paul Parkinson et Andrew Evans, à Mississauga, Ont.   

Kara Yun, 13 ans, de Vancouver, C.-B., est la dernière inscription canadienne de la discipline féminine novice. Kara a remporté deux médailles à l’échelon national, alors qu’elle a fini en deuxième place aux Championnats nationaux de patinage Canadian Tire 2022 et en troisième place au Défi Patinage Canada 2022. Joanne McLeod et Neil Wilson entraînent Kara, à Vancouver, C.-B.  

Manon Perron, conseillère de haute performance de Patinage Canada, et André Bourgeois, directeur, Prochaine génération, seront les chefs d’équipe à l’événement. La physiothérapeute Emma Lis représentera le personnel médical canadien sur place à l’événement. Laura Carr, de Kelowna, C.-B., sera l’officielle canadienne à l’événement.
