Canada Soccer has named former Women’s National Team player Kristina Kiss as its Manager, Development – Programming effective 1 July 2021. In the newly created role, Kiss will work as part of the Development Department with a focus on promoting and supporting program development and operation with a specific focus on representation of women, marginalized, and under-represented groups across Canada.

“Kristina Kiss brings a wealth of experience to Canada Soccer as a former Women’s National Team Player, technical leader, coach, player development specialist, and coach development specialist,” said Jason deVos, Canada Soccer’s Director of Development. “Kristina will play a key role in aligning stakeholders to ensure that all who wish to participate in the game have an equitable opportunity to develop in a safe and welcoming environment.”

After earning a Jubilee Trophy title at the 1999 Canada Soccer National Championships, Kiss made her first Women’s National Team appearance at the 2000 Algarve Cup as a 19-year-old. She went on to make 75 appearances for Canada including at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2003 USA where Canada earned a fourth-place finish, its best-ever showing.

Kiss is the latest Women’s National Team Program alum to be appointed to roles with Canada Soccer. Robyn Gayle serves as Canada Soccer’s National Teams Excel Mental and Cultural Manager, working with both the Men’s and Women’s National Team Programs. Melissa Tancredi serves as a member of the National Team medical staff, and Youth international Jasmine Mander was recently announced as a Women’s National Team Performance Analyst in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
