Toronto, April 10, 2025 – Canada SCORES Toronto, part of a North American wide network of leading nonprofit affiliates focused on youth development that was established as a 1994 FIFA World Cup Legacy Program, is proud to announce a new partnership with York United FC for the 2025 season. This exciting collaboration will see Canada SCORES Toronto as the official charitable partner of the team, with a range of initiatives aimed at making a positive impact in the local community.
As part of the partnership, Canada SCORES Toronto will be the official beneficiary of the 50/50 raffle at all York United FC home games throughout the season. Fans attending the games will have the chance to contribute to both the excitement of the game and the growth of positive youth development programs for underserved children & youth in the region, with proceeds from the raffle going directly to support Canada SCORES Toronto’s after-school initiatives and community programs.
“We are thrilled to partner with York United FC for the 2025 season,” said Nick Taylor, Founding Executive Director of Canada SCORES Toronto. “This collaboration not only helps raise vital funds for our programs but also creates unique opportunities for the children & youth in the communities we serve to connect with the team and experience first-hand what it means to be part of a professional sports organization. The exposure and support we will receive through this partnership will be invaluable in helping us continue to deliver life-changing programs for young people.”
In addition to the 50/50 raffle, the partnership will also feature player visits to Canada SCORES Toronto’s after-school programs, where “Poet-Athletes” will have the opportunity to interact with and learn from professional athletes. Coaches from York United FC will also provide specialized coaching clinics, giving both Program Leaders and participants the chance to improve their skills and gain insights from some of the best in the game.
The partnership will further include promotional opportunities for Canada SCORES Toronto at home matches, allowing the organization to engage with fans and raise awareness about the work it does in the community.
