Statement On Athlete Assistance Program Funding In Budget 2024

AthletesCAN, the association of Canada’s national team athletes, the Canadian Olympic Committee Athletes’ Commission (COC AC) and the Canadian Paralympic Committee Athletes’ Council (CPC AC) issued the following statement regarding the announcement in the 2024 Federal Budget. The Federal Budget “proposes to provide $35 million over five years, starting in 2024-25, and $7 million ongoing to the Department of Canadian Heritage, for the Athlete Assistance Program. This would increase the funding allowance for supported athletes and support additional athletes in new Olympic & Paralympic sport disciplines.”
