Canadian Lacrosse Association – Ottawa, ON—The athlete pool of 28 players that the Canadian Men’s Indoor Lacrosse Team will be selected from has been announced. All of these athletes are professional players in the NLL, and some are Team Canada alumni. From this pool, a final roster of 23 will be chosen.

The Canadian Men’s Indoor Lacrosse Team will play at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championship (WILC) in Langley, B.C. from Sept. 19-28, 2019. Canada has taken home gold at the WILC since it started in 2003.

“The coaching staff has spent considerable time reviewing the candidates for the Canadian National Team,” said Eddie Comeau, general manager of the Canadian Men’s Box Lacrosse Team. “It is a tough task to reduce our list to our player pool and then the staff faces an even tougher challenge to select the 23 who will represent Canada at the WILC.”

The coaching and support staff that will lead the 2019 Team Canada includes: Glenn Clark (head coach), Sean Ferris (team coordinator), Pat Coyle (assistant coach), Curt Malawsky (assistant coach), Mike Hasen (assistant coach), Mike McKay (scout) and Ted Cordingley (equipment manager).
