2025 BC Bears U19 Rosters Announced for Canadian Rugby U19 Championships

The BC Bears U19 XVs Squads will travel to Calgary Rugby Park, Alberta, to compete for the 2025 Canadian U19 National Championship titles following extensive preparation. Both teams will face tough opposition in the Atlantic Rock, Alberta Wolfpack, Rugby Quebec and Rugby Ontario.

The BC Bears U19 Men’s Team will be led by Head Coach Curry Hitchborn (Vancouver Rugby Union) and Assistant Coaches Tom Larisch (Capilano RFC) and Logan Martin-Feek (Crimson Tide) as they aim to go one better than last year’s silver medal finish in Nova Scotia.

The BC Bears U19 Women, led by Jake Thiel (UBC Thunderbirds/UBCOB Ravens) and Assistant Coaches Jordan McLeod (UBC Thunderbirds) and Jenna Elidoros (Yeti Rugby/TORA), will be aiming to improve on last year’s fourth-place finish.

Squad selections were confirmed following the conclusion of the 2025 Provincial Regional Championships, with both teams participating in several training sessions ahead of departure for Calgary.

“This years PRCs was exactly what was needed. Everyone got to see best-on-best in a world class rugby environment. It made for a clearly defined selection process in which we saw the time and effort clubs, high schools and regions have put in to help develop these athletes get to where they are,” said Curry Hitchborn, BC Bears U19 Men’s Head Coach.

“After the incredible success of this new iteration of the PRCs, I’m excited to lead this talented group of athletes into the Canadian Rugby Championship. The level of competition on display at Shawnigan made selections incredibly difficult but I believe we’ve assembled the right combination of players and staff to be competitive once again,” said Jake Thiel, BC Bears U19 Women’s Head Coach.

Our teams will proudly wear playing and training kit manufactured by our partner, O’Neills. Founded in 1918, O’Neills is renowned for its commitment to quality and innovation across the globe.
