At the end of the Camps, 24 athletes will be selected for each team to represent the BC Bears in a three-match series against Rugby Ontario’s Regional and U17s Programs in Brampton, Ontario from August 23-31, 2025.
Leana Marton (TORA) will return as Head Coach of the BC Bears U17 Boys Squad, assisted by Rob Hayes (Langley RFC) and Noah Pryce-Baff (Kats RFC). The BC Bears U17 Girls Program will face off in a two-match Series against the Alberta Wolfpack U17 Girls in preparation for the tour of Ontario.
Full details on the matches can be found below. Squad selections have been made following the conclusion of the 2025 Provincial Regional Championships held at Shawnigan Lake School.
“I’m excited to see the top 30 athletes come together at Shawnigan to perform and compete for a spot on our touring side to Ontario. Shawnigan offers an opportunity for the athletes to experience a high-level atmosphere, to prepare some of these athletes for a competitive experience as they hopefully continue in the representative pathway. Our Bears Camp will offer highly competitive games to elevate the experience for them.” Leana Marton, BC Bears U17 Boys Head Coach
“This group is full of character, talent, and heart. It is a privilege to support them as they push themselves and each other to become the best players – and people – they can be. The future of Rugby in BC, and in Canada, is strong. I am grateful and honoured to learn alongside them and to be even a small part of this journey. GO BEARS!” Will Ballard, BC Bears U17 Girls Head Coach
