2019 Polar Bear Classic Day 1 Results

Manitoba Diving – Winnipeg, MB – The 2019 Polar Bear Classic is underway and Manitoba divers are having a sensational event! In addition to many divers making national qualifying scores taking them one step closer to competing at nationals this summer, Manitoba divers had many medal winning and outstanding performances.  They include:
 

  • Leia Berman– Women’s 1M Group C2: GOLD
  • Alex Tiaglei– Men’s 3M Group B: GOLD
  • Corydon Wolfe – Women’s Platform Group D1: GOLD
  • Bennett Sime-Surcon– Men’s 1M Group C: GOLD
  • Attila Bernatsky– Men’s 3M Group B: SILVER
  • WillWade– Men’s 3M Group A: SILVER
  • Isabella Lamont– Women’s 3M Group B: 6thPLACE
  • ZIta Bernatsky– Women’s 1M Group C1: 7thPLACE

“I felt like I had a really great event and felt like I was really focused on my dives today. And so that really helped me accomplish the goals I wanted,” said Leia Berman, aged 12.
 
“My event didn’t start off too great but I regained my focus and finished strong,” said Alex Tiaglie, aged 13.
 
“This is our first competition of the season, and if it is any indication of how the rest of the season will go – it’s going to be a great year!” said Head Coach Dallas Ludwick. “Our coaching staff has been working hard to bring up our next generation of divers, and today they came out with a bang on the first day of competition!”
 
There are over 20 divers from Manitoba competing in the 2019 Polar Bear Classic.  They will all continue competing all weekend.  If you are interested in receiving results, photos or interviewing participants please contact Ken Stevens at 204.470.5640.
 
The Polar Bear Classic continues through to the end of Sunday afternoon.

Time: 9:00 am – 4pm daily
