Volleyball Canada – May 23, 2019: Volleyball Canada is pleased to announce its junior men’s team. A travelling roster for the Men’s U21 World Championship in Manama, Bahrain, from July 18 to 27, 2019 will be announced at a later date.
After a recent selection camp at the Centre Sportif in Gatineau, Quebec, that included 42 players, the coaching staff have created a roster of 17 athletes, who will train until July 17, 2019.
“The players at the selection camp came in with a very good mindset, fighting for every ball, and we were very pleased with this mentality. I want to thank all the players for their effort and commitment, which meant we had to make some difficult decisions,” explained junior team head coach Joao Paulo Bravo. “We selected a more physical team than last year thinking about the competition we are going to play; there is still a lot of work to do and we strongly believe that all the players selected can improve and develop on the training preparation period.”
Canada finished eighth at the last U21 World in 2017 in Czech Republic.
