2019 Elite Canada in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Competition hits Gatineau

Gymnastics Canada – GATINEAU, QC (Jan 30, 2019) – Media are invited to attend the 2019 Elite Canada in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics competition running from Friday, February 1st to Sunday, February 3rd, 2019 at the Centre Sportif de Gatineau in Gatineau, QC.
 
Hosted by Club Unigym Gatineau, Elite Canada brings together the top athletes from across Canada from the novice, junior, and senior categories in women’s artistic gymnastics. Throughout the weekend there will be a total of 45 medals awarded, and an Elite Canada titleholder named in each category.
 
The 2019 Athlete and Coaches of the Year for artistic gymnastics will also be announced and celebrated at the competition. The awards will be presented at 14:30 ET on Sunday. An autograph session with our 2018 World Championships will take place following the awards on Sunday afternoon.
 
WHAT: 2019 Elite Canada Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Competition
 
WHO:  

  • Over 100 of Canada’s top high-performance gymnasts
  • Ana Padurariu of Whitby, ON who recently won a silver medal on beam at the 2018 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships will be competing, as will her teammates Ellie Black, Sophie Marois, and Laurie Dénommée who took the team to a record high placing of 4th in the team finals
  • Local athletes Jenna Lalonde from the Ottawa Gymnastics Centre and Tegan Shaver, representing the host club – Unigym, will both compete in the novice division
