Gymnastics Canada – MARKHAM, ON (May 10, 2019) – Media are invited to attend the 2019 Canadian Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics running from Thursday, May 16 to Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the Markham Pan Am Centre in Markham, ON.
Hosted by the Glimmer Athletic Club, the Canadian Championships bring together the top athletes from across Canada in the novice, junior high performance, junior open, senior high performance, and senior open categories in rhythmic gymnastics. The Canadian Championships will also play a role in completing the selection process for the following major competitions this year: the Pan American Games, Junior World Championships, Senior World Championships, Junior Pan American Championships, and the FISU Games.
A highlight of this competition will be seeing our new Canadian Senior Group competing for the first time in a Canadian domestic competition as they prepare for the Pan American Games and Senior World Championships.
The full gymnastics team for the 2019 Pan American Games will be announced on June 12th, 2019.
Throughout the weekend there will be a total of 30 medal events, and a Canadian Championship titleholder named in each category.
